MICHELLE COLAIZZI
Michelle, a Colorado native and youngest of six children, always had her heart set on attending the University of Colorado. Upon graduation in 1985 she took a job with the Allstate Insurance Company where she began a longstanding and rewarding career. After 14 years of employment and the support of the Corporation she opened her own Allstate Agency in Highland Ranch.
She immediately joined the Chamber of Commerce and quickly learned the value of her membership. She was able to connect with her community, collaborate with other business owners and provide resources to her customers through the relationships she built within the organization. As a chamber member Michelle was elected to the Board of Directors, chaired several committees, sponsored many events and gave countless hours of volunteerism. She was also the recipient of many awards including Small Business of the Year and Ambassador of the year multiple times. She enjoyed her relationships and credits the success of her 23-year business to her affiliation with the Northwest Doulas County Chamber and EDC.
After the sale of her business in 2023 and a well-deserved break, Michelle found the opportunity to bring her passion and energy to the SMDC where she serves as the Director of Member Development. Her experience as a business owner and involved Chamber member allows her to connect with members and provide them with the support they need. She knows what it takes to grow a business organically and relates to the many hats a small business owner must wear and shares her experiences with the members.
When not in the office, she can be found out in the community supporting local businesses, spending time with family and friends or spoiling her Great Pyrenees, Jameson. She loves music and dining. local events and getting on an airplane any chance she gets. She is most content when her calendar is full.
She is especially proud of the family she has built with her husband Ron, also a Colorado native, and their three adult children who are now growing families of their own. She is grateful they have stayed in the area so she can spend time with her two new granddaughters.
