POLICY UPDATES AND EDUCATIONAL ARTICLES TO HELP ORGANIZATIONS THRIVE
Chamber Members, As we are just a little more than one month past the end of the 2022 legislative session, it’s important to look back and reflect on the South Metro Denver Chamber’s legislative priorities and reiterate the distinctive value your membership provides. The Chamber is uniquely positioned to affect lasting public policy change within Colorado, and our mission in that respect is twofold: to educate and empower our members, and to represent the voice of business owners in the south metro Denver area. Chamber members and the larger business community collectively benefit from our active and influential participation in the public policy arena, particularly as it relates to issues affecting our local, state, and national business climate. Through feedback from our members, the Chamber continuously reviews and weighs-in on business related legislation and ballot measures to ensure a correct balance is maintained which is conducive to a business-friendly climate. Chamber staff and professional lobbyists ensure the Chamber’s policy positions are communicated to our leadership at the state Capitol.
We strive to be transparent, inclusive and collaborative with members in achieving our policy objectives, which are driven by two committees – the Business Leaders for Responsible Government and the Legislative Action Committee. These committees provide members with the knowledge to navigate the changing legislative landscape, and an opportunity to take action and create change. We also keep members informed on current legislative issues with our Colorado Legislative Strategies Newsletter. Our legislative priorities in 2022 have been and continue to be business-friendly regulation and economic development, education and workforce development, energy and natural resources, health and wellness, state budget priorities and transportation funding. Looking forward, we will focus our legislative priorities based on the needs of our members, as we always do. We appreciate your partnership in advocating for common sense, rational and practical legislation that will result in a vibrant economic climate for the business community and state of Colorado. Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns related to our legislative priorities. The door is always open. Sincerely, Jeff Keener President & CEO South Metro Denver Chamber Comments are closed.
