Denver, CO – (August 25, 2015) - In late 2014, Metropolitan State University of Denver launched LearnOn––a new, affordable continuing education program for adult members of the community.
“Based on the positive response to our pilot program of nine courses last spring,” said Dr. Mary Ann Watson, LearnOn’s director, “we were encouraged to expand the course offerings this year––the 50th anniversary of the University.”
Beginning in September 2015 and scheduled throughout the year, LearnOn will offer 32 wide-ranging, not-for-credit courses taught by MSU Denver faculty that encompass a variety of topics including “Film-Making on a Budget,” “Healthy Fish Cookery,” “Latino History,” “Prison Culture and Restorative Justice,” “Journey to Space,” “History and Walking Tours of Denver,” “3-D Printing,” “Reconsidering Your Career at Mid-Life,” and “Gender, Orientation, and Sexuality in the 21st Century.”
Most courses will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. for two to four weeks and will cost $10.00 per classroom hour. Also, most courses will be held at the MSU Denver Student Success Building on the downtown Auraria Campus, with other classes taking place at South Campus (I-25 and Orchard) and the Center For Visual Arts on Santa Fe Drive.
