Inspired by “Shark Tank”, contest provides opportunities for local non-profits.
Centennial, CO. (January 19, 2016). The Chamber’s Nonprofit and Business Partnership is presenting The Tank on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 3 – 5:30 PM at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The Tank provides Chamber nonprofits the opportunity to compete for funding awarded by community business leaders, lenders and investors. Emceed by Brian Vogt, CEO,
Denver Botanic Gardens, this event will be entertaining as well as highlight the tremendous work that nonprofits are doing for our community.
Each nonprofit will present about a unique program or organization to the audience, followed by a Q&A session from the panel of ‘Sharks’. Each presenting nonprofit will be guaranteed a cash prize of $250 with the opportunity to win thousands.
The Chamber is currently accepting commitments from individuals or representatives of organizations to participate as a “shark.” When you sign up to be a shark, you will be asked to make a minimum commitment of $250. Sharks will attend the event and listen to live pitches from the various non-profits, then make a decision at as to whom they will make a donation.
Other benefits of participating as a Shark:
• Special seating at the event for one shark
• Other recognition (varying based on the amount a Shark is committed to donating) in various communication pieces including: event program, on the Chamber website, press releases, at the event recognition, post events releases
There will be a cocktail reception to follow, from 5:30 – 6:30 PM. Sharks and guests will have time to meet while the event organizers tabulate the shark’s contributions. The results will be announced at the reception.
There are many amazing nonprofits doing incredible work in our community, now is the time for our community members to find out more about these programs and to support a local cause.
