External Inclusion Efforts
Our goal is to increase the interaction between minority businesses and major corporations, increase corporate purchasing opportunities for minority businesses, facilitate a strong commitment to local purchasing and foster an environment of collaboration, In the South Metro Denver area. Our first step will be the creation of a central database and to develop a process of alignment to link small businesses with corporations. In addition, there is an ongoing process to educate business to meet the needs of corporations
Key program components
• Outreach to minority and diverse suppliers through on-line resources.
• Internal marketing campaign promoting the use of small, minority and diverse suppliers.
Education
We will provide assistance with skills and capacity development for inclusion in business development initiatives.
Cross-Cultural Partnerships
To develop and encourage business relationships between the SMDCC and minority sponsored chambers/organizations we will begin to create cross-cultural partnerships by contacting minority sponsored chambers and business organizations across the state of Colorado. Our goal is to build relationships that are mutually beneficial, by hosting co-branded events. Plans are underway to organize unified business events that incorporate all of the Chambers and to lay the groundwork to communicate opportunities for involvement both internally and externally.
Diversity and Inclusion Survey
In an effort to focus on key demographics of the South Metro Denver corridor we are creating a survey to Identify the level of existing diversity within the Chamber’s current membership and surrounding areas.
The on-line survey will be a convenient way for current and potential members to give the committee guidance when we put together need based programs and initiatives.
