Chamber Connection
Like most Chambers of Commerce, the South Metro Denver Chamber
has an internal volunteer group. It is known as the “Chamber Connection”. The Chamber currently offers over seventy programs and services. It is not difficult to imagine how much effort is required to support this ambitious schedule when it is being offered to many hundreds of member companies representing tens of thousands of employees. The Chamber Connection volunteers are utilized to augment the Chamber staff and assist in putting on these many events.
The task we are best known for is that of good will ambassador. We greet and mix with the attendees at
various events, making them feel welcome and comfortable. New members are encouraged to look for our badges with the blue “Connection” ribbons if they are ever feeling out of place at an event. Connection members are likewise trained to look for and engage with people who might be lost in the crowd. We are there to connect people.
Depending on your availability and the specific business areas of interest you might have, there are additional Connection activities which might appeal to you. We support all of the ribbon cutting events. There is a
program called “LOOP” where we call directly on member companies. Our members are always involved in the annual golf tournament. The Connection often acts as the eyes and ears of the Chamber and our members are often asked to participate on other committees as well.
In short, the Connection is called
upon to strengthen the resources of the Chamber staff, wherever needed. In this role, the volunteers come into contact with many more members than they might normally have met. If you want to fast-track your membership and learn about the community, there is no better way than to serve in the Connection
The Connection plays a critical role in Chamber Events including:
- Business After Hours
- New Member Briefings
- Ribbon Cuttings and Grand Openings
- Volunteering and Logistical support at Special Events
