President's Leadership ForumPresident's Leadership Forum

Once a month, prior to the Chamber Unplugged, Chamber President and CEO, John Brackney gathers a group of interesting businesspeople together for a presentation and discussion of a relevant and important topic of the day. The presentation is presented by local as well as nationally known leaders in the business community regarding different components of leadership. After the presentation, there is a discussion as to how the material can be used in today's business world. Always a stimulating and thought-provoking discussion which often continues on at the Chamber Unplugged in a totally different atmosphere.

Past Presenters have included:

Rick Williams & Gayle DendingerRick Williams, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund, spoke on the core values of leadership from the American Indian's perspective. At the end of his presentation, he bestowed a ceremonial Indian Blanket to Gayle Dendinger as a token of Leadership.

Saunders Construction CEO, John Beeble, explained his company's philosophy regarding "the company as family" and how to balance a company's goal of growth and profit with also being a traditionally family-oriented business.

Capt. Jepp and the little black bookAuthors Terry Barnhart and Flint Whitlock as well as the COO of Jeppesen, Brad Thomann presented the life and times of Barnstormer and Aviation Pioneer Elrey Jeppesen. How "Jepp" made the skies safer for everyone and the role the company that carries his name plays in continuing to make not only aviation, but nautical and rail travel safer for everyone to this day.

“Really interesting! I walked away with very solid thoughts on Leadership - Vision, Courage, Thoughtfulness, Customer Service, Relationships, Honesty, and even Bossiness! I liked them all! Some people are born with this cabability and others have to learn. Very good roundtable discussion ~ Great group, looking forward to the next forum!”
