Jeff is the head of the company's HR department and directly responsible for Metric Theory's employee wellness initiatives and soft skills coaching program. About Jeff Buenrostro, Founder, COO & CPO
In his dual role as Chief Operating Officer and Chief People Officer, Jeff holds responsibility for overseeing general business operations including finance, accounting, HR, business development, and culture. His main focus is attracting, developing and retaining Metric Theory team members through an award-winning company culture. Jeff creates and implements work/life integration programs and culture initiatives that support individuals and teams in exceeding their personal and professional goals.
Jeff’s background prior to Metric Theory includes both the operating and investing side of business. Most recently, Jeff was the Director of Business Development at Meltwater Group where he was responsible for leading partnerships and advised the company on new business ventures. He created and launched Meltwater’s Search Engine Marketing division in 2010.
Previously, Jeff was at Viant Group, a San Francisco venture firm where he initiated their alternative energy investment practice and worked on incubating technology companies. Over the past decade, Jeff has worked with a number of startup teams and consulted with NGOs on projects in developing countries.
Jeff currently sits on the board of NatureBridge Golden Gate, a non-profit focused on environmental education, and Cultivate the Karass, a non-profit that fosters non-partisan collaboration among diverse civic leaders.
Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in Human & Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from Stanford University. Jeff is also trained in design methodology at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University.
