As Owner’s Representative, NV5 will lend their construction management expertise to assist JCPL with:
“We’re thrilled to partner with NV5 on updating the Columbine Library,” said Pam Nissler, executive director, JCPL. “Their long-standing expertise in engineering and construction, coupled with our deep experience in providing community-based library services, should enable us to provide a showcase Library in South Jefferson County.”
The Columbine Library, a 30,000-square-foot library located at 7706 W Bowles Ave. in Littleton, was built in 1989 and has not been updated since 2002. This remodel will enable JCPL to update its service model to support 21st century Library services.
NV5 was selected through a competitive bidding process launched by the Library in May. Six firms responded to JCPL’s Request for Proposals; firms were evaluated based on price, ability to meet JCPL’s needs, experience and references. NV5 was awarded a contract for Owner’s Representative Services for an amount not to exceed $107,735.
“The Library’s interview committee unanimously selected NV5 as its top choice for this project,” Nissler continued. “They have extensive experience in working with libraries and schools; they are committed to working with and involving the community in the project; and they have a great track record in successfully estimating and budgeting for these types of projects.”
The Library plans to solicit community feedback on a proposed design this fall, with the goal of beginning construction in 2017. Project updates will be posted to the Library’s website at jeffcolibrary.org/locations/south-county.
